Oven Roasted Carp

Carp is one of the most delicious and common fish consumed in many parts of the world, and it has a number of great health benefits, including its ability to improve heart health, lower inflammation, protect respiratory health, optimize digestive function, slow the aging process and fend off chronic disease. In order to enjoy this oven roasted carp recipe the most, you will need a fresh carp. Here’s a guide on how to clean and prepare fresh carp for meal. Note that you don’t have to cut the carp in steaks, we’re going to cook the whole fish in this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 fresh carp
  • 5 carrots
  • 2 lemons
  • Garlic
  • 200 ml white wine
  • 200 ml water
  • 1 spoon of all purpose spice mix
  • Oil
  • Parsley
  • Salt
  • Ground pepper

Instructions:

  1. Grate the carrots and place them in a bowl. Then, chop the fresh parsley and garlic and add it in the bowl. Drain one lemon and add the lemon juice in the bowl. Add the mixed spices, salt and pepper.
  2. Season the carp with salt and pepper. Fill the fish with the mix from the bowl.
  3. Brush a roasting pan with oil and put the carp in it. Slightly cut the carp on several places.
  4. Cut the lemon in circles. Cut one carrot lengthwise. Insert one slice of lemon and carrot in each incision. Add some chopped garlic too.
  5. Add the wine in the pan. Then, add 200 ml water.
  6. Put aluminum foil over the pan and insert in the oven. Roast for 60 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius (392 Fahrenheit). Remove the foil after 40 minutes.
