  • Fruits and vegetables – This group of food contain a lot of important nutrients for pregnancy especially. Pregnant woman need at least 60 -70 grams of vitamin C, so adding lemon and orange or vegetables such as broccoli, tomatoes in your daily menu is the perfect way to ensure that your body has enough vitamins.
  • Protein food – During the pregnancy protein food play very important role. Meat, fish, beans and eggs contain a lot of protein, B vitamin and iron. Your baby need especially protein food during second and third trimesters. Iron helps to carry oxygen easily to your baby and also it helps in caring oxygen to you muscles to help avoiding weakness, depression etc.
  • Whole grains are a big source of energy, they also provide fiber, iron and B-vitamins. At least half of a pregnant woman’s carbohydrate choices each day should come from whole grains, such as oatmeal, whole-wheat pasta or breads and brown rice, Krieger said.
